Matt Jones and the Bobs was originally formed in the early winter of 2012 as a folk/bluegrass trio by Matt Jones, Jonathon Crandall and Pat Keefe. In the following year the sounds of the band developed harmoniously and enthusiastically with the fitting new rhythmic additions of Keegan Lemcke and Trevor Creany. The emerging five-piece had generated a brand new sound consisting of an eclectic singer/songerwriter merged with high energy Americana/Folk influences, and a unique upbeatness distinguished by traditional bluegrass and Appalachia mountain music. Matt Jones and the Bobs has emerged from the small town of Radford in Southwest VA to cities in VA, WV, and NC. They fulfilled their first self-propelled tour in the summer of 2013 and have plans of a northeast and southeast coastal tour in the summer of 2014. Matt Jones and the Bobs has shared the stage with many admirable bands including Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, People’s Blues of Richmond, Ghost Owl, Gangsta-Grass, Three-Legged Fox, The Woodshedders, Holy Ghost Tent Revival, Moogatu, Former Champions, Tiny Boxes, The Southern Belles of Richmond, and The Shack Band. The band recently finished their first studio album and is ecstatic to show the world. Expect to see many great things to come from Matt Jones and the Bobs and stay tuned for the band’s release date of their first album Brother’s Hymn!!
